PERT, or three points
estimates, means "PROGRAM Evaluation and Review
Technique". There are 3 estimates for each task: Optimistic, Pessimistic,
and Most Likely. The formula is a must know!
A very straightforward question could be like this:
Given the following estimates: Optimistic 3 days, Pessimistic 9 days, and most likely 6 days, what is the PERT weighted average?
A. 6.1
B. 6.3
C. 6
D. 4
The answer is page 150 of the PMBOK (Chapter 6, Project Time Management)
