IIL's International Project Management Day Program Postponed to NOVEMBER 15, 2012.

As many of you are aware of the recent Hurricane Sandy's destructive path through the Northeastern United States and its devastation to so many families, properties and businesses. IIL's thoughts are with everyone who has been affected by Sandy.

As a result of the storm there are widespread issues with Internet interconnectivity. Therefore, IIL has decided to postpone its International Project Management Day program for two weeks - until 15 November, 2012. PMBOK 5th Edition

The Guide Exposure Draft of the PMBOK 5th edition has been circulating around.
"PMBOK Version 5 won't be out till the 4th Quarter of 2012; and new restructured PMP exam test will start from approximately from June 2013. If you're studying for the PMP currently from 2012-June 2013 stick with PMBOK version 4(unless otherwise stated)." The most convenient way is to use the PROMETRIC centers. You can access to a paper based exam, if you are issues for travelling or obtaining a visa, in case your country doesn't host such a center.

Question about PERT

PERT, or three points estimates, means "PROGRAM Evaluation and Review Technique". There are 3 estimates for each task: Optimistic, Pessimistic, and Most Likely. The formula is a must know!

A very straightforward question could be like this:

Given the following estimates: Optimistic 3 days, Pessimistic 9 days, and most likely 6 days, what is the PERT weighted average?

A. 6.1

B. 6.3

C. 6

D. 4
